I am a professor in the Department of Political Science at Binghamton University, where I teach and write about international relations. I am interested in the influence of domestic political and economic considerations on foreign policy choices, especially on trade policy, military spending, the use of force, and alliance formation. Most of my research explores these issues in the context of American foreign policy. I have taught classes about international conflict, international political economy, American foreign policy, and a variety of other issues in the field.
